In the heart
of Portugal, practically considered equidistant from the
Atlantic Ocean and from the Spanish border, the region
is situated at a strategic confluence point.
About 90 km from Aveiro, Coimbra and Covilhã, 130 km
from Vilar Formoso, 300 km from Lisbon and 120 km from
Oporto, you can get here on the A25 motorway or IP3 main
road, using the national road system or by the main
international railway line, the Beira Alta line (Nelas
and Mangualde stations).

TO GET TO VISEU
Road links
From Lisbon
Heading north on the A1motorway- leave the A1 at the
sign for VISEU IP3 – enter Viseu at the Viseu SUL sign.
From Oporto
Heading towards Lisbon on the A1motorway – leave the A1
at the sign for VISEU A25. From the A25 there are
various options for getting to Viseu, duly signposted (exits
no. 14, 15, 16, 17 or 18).
Railway links
From Lisbon
(Santa Apolónia or Gare do Oriente stations) – Beira
Alta line – Arriving at Nelas or Mangualde (connection
to Viseu by bus).
From Oporto
(Campanhã station) – change to the Beira Alta Line at
Pampilhosa or Coimbra B – Arriving at Nelas or Mangualde
(connection to Viseu by bus).
